It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as your Councilwoman over the last year. I have relished the exchanges, interactions, questions, and opinions you have shared with me. Through taking your ideas and working hard to implement them, we have been able to accomplish much: from launching a full lifeguard program on our North Beach to implementing a new policy to effectively eliminate the use of synthetic pesticides like glyphosate from being used for pest and weed management on city-maintained properties.
We're in the midst of revising, streamlining, and bringing consistency to our Municipal Code for the first time and revisiting our boards, commissions, and committees appointment procedures so that Carlsbad has effective and diverse representation in key leadership positions in Carlsbad.
While we have accomplished much, there is still a lot of work to be done to ensure that the will of our residents is shaping the future of our City.
I am running for Mayor of Carlsbad in 2018 to restore the public's trust in our local government, to increase transparency at City Hall, and preserve our small beach town character and quality of life for generations to come.
